You can cancel your Deferit membership at any time. You do not need to delete your account to stop future membership renewals.
Cancel your membership
- Log in to your account via the app or website.
- Go to Settings > Membership.
- Select Cancel membership.
If you are offered a pause, continue with cancellation if you want to end your membership. Follow the remaining steps to complete your cancellation.
What happens after cancellation
- Your membership fee will not be charged on your next monthly renewal date.
- Future scheduled bills will be canceled. This does not cancel installments or other amounts you already owe for bills that have been paid.
- You remain responsible for outstanding repayments and other amounts already owed. Contact Support if you need help or hardship assistance.
- Cancellation does not automatically refund fees already paid. You can ask Support to review a membership-fee refund request; requests are assessed case by case. For a security deposit, the refund and offset conditions in What is the security deposit? still apply.
- Your account remains available. If you choose to reactivate your membership later, eligibility and account-review requirements still apply.
Pause instead of canceling
Pausing is optional and temporary. Membership billing resumes automatically at the end of the pause, and existing repayments continue.
How to pause your membership
- Log in to your account via the app or website.
- Go to Settings > Membership.
- Select Cancel membership.
- Choose Pause membership instead, and pick how long you’d like to pause: 1, 2, or 3 months.
Your membership will automatically resume at the end of your chosen pause period. You can also resume early at any time from Settings > Membership.
Close your account
Closing your account is separate from cancelling your membership. To request account closure, contact us through the website Chat widget. Any outstanding amounts must be paid before your account can be closed.
You can cancel your membership at any time, even if you have an outstanding balance. Cancelling your membership does not remove your obligation to repay that balance.
Need help canceling
If you cannot access your account or complete the cancellation steps, contact Support through the website Chat widget and explain that you want to cancel your membership.
