Need to split your Appalachian Power bill into installments?

Appalachian Power offers several options for customers who need more time to pay. A one-time Payment Extension gives a few extra days to pay the balance in full. A Payment Arrangement sets up a monthly installment plan to pay off the balance over several months. Both require contacting Appalachian Power.

Income-qualified customers may be eligible for federal or state assistance programs. LIHEAP (Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program) is available for Virginia and Tennessee customers through local social service agencies. West Virginia customers may apply for LIEAP (Low-Income Energy Assistance Program), which also includes an Emergency Repair and Replacement Program. Virginia customers may qualify for PIPP (Percentage of Income Payment Plan), which helps manage outstanding electric bills for households at or below 150% of federal poverty guidelines.

The Neighbor to Neighbor program, through the Dollar Energy Fund, provides grants applied directly to accounts to prevent disconnection or restore service. The Average Monthly Payments (AMP) program smooths out seasonal bill swings by leveling monthly payments and settling periodically.

If the goal is to pay the bill in full now and split the cost into smaller repayments, Deferit can pay an eligible Appalachian Power bill on your behalf and let you repay it in 4 smaller installments.
